Cornwall College Facilities
Cornwall College comprises seven main campus sites throughout Cornwall, with their own unique areas of study and specialist facilities.
Cornwall College Camborne
The college's largest campus site specialises in business, arts, tourism, science and media. The site has recently undergone significant investment in new buildings and facilities, including a £5 million engineering and built environment building, lecture theatres, science laboratories and a student bar. Cornwall Business School, based at this campus, specialises in management, marketing, accountancy, business, social sciences and education.
Cornwall College Newquay
The newest campus site, adjacent to Newquay Zoo, has a new centre for applied zoology. Within sight of racoons and the roars of lions from the zoo, and close to a wealth of natural marine and terrestrial habitats, the campus is an ideal location for studying animals in captivity and in the wild. The campus also has strong links with Blue Reef Aquarium and the National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow, where students can gain valuable experience of working in a variety of environments.
Cornwall College Saltash
A small and friendly campus, Saltash prides itself on personal support and guidance for students throughout their studies. The campus, just a few minutes from the bustling city of Plymouth, offers higher education courses in computing and health care. Based in its new IT suite, the computing courses enable students to build, configure and network PCs, skills which are increasingly required in the fast-moving world of information technology.
Cornwall College St Austell
The campus in St Austell is relocating to a new site in 2004, which overlooks St Austell Bay providing breathtaking views and some of the impressive education facilities. The move gives students improved facilities and space, plus increased recreational areas and more university-level courses. St Austell specialises in higher education courses in counselling, fine art, human bioscience and complementary health.
Duchy College Rosewarne
Located near Camborne, Duchy College Rosewarne boasts impressive horticultural facilities across its fifty hectare site, including national plant collections and wide variety of reptiles, small animals and birds. The campus has strong links with Paradise Park (home of the World Parrot Trust) and the Eden project, giving students access to one of the most exciting botanical and environmental exhibitions in the world.
Duchy College Stoke Climsland
Duchy College Stoke Climsland, near Callington, has a unique atmosphere and appearance, situated in rolling countryside. Facilities include grounds and gardens, halls of residence for students requiring accommodation, driving range, stables, and climbing wall for students on the adventure education courses. Duchy’s specialist provision includes equine behaviour, equine sports performance, adventure education, and land-based studies.
Falmouth Marine School
The heart of Cornwall’s main seaport provides a superb setting for Falmouth Marine School. The campus boasts boat-building workshops, a dedicated marine engineering centre, availability of floating classrooms for marine science and a watersports centre. Falmouth’s unique courses provide opportunities for students to take advantage of field trips and gain real work experience abroad or in the UK.
