The Italian Cultural Institute is the official Italian government centre for the promotion of culture, offering a wide choice of Italian language classes. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced, whether you want Italian for business or pleasure, we can help you perfect your language skills at a level that suits your needs, and times and days that suit your schedule.
You can also continue to fine-tune your language skills after class. All in a friendly, informal and lively atmosphere that is totally Italian!
Members can also use our Library, with more than 25,000 volumes, plus periodicals and a large reference section. You can borrow videos and DVDs. Internet access is available as well.
Finally, there’s our fabulous Caffe Fellini, serving genuine Italian coffee and snacks in a genuine Italian setting. Hence, for a deeper appreciation of our language and our culture, come to the Istituto Italiano. The place to learn Italian – with style.
We offer General Italian courses on all levels, week-day mornings, afternoons, evenings, and week-ends. In addition, there are morning Intensive courses. We can arrange private or group tuition, for individuals or companies. We also offer classes in conversation, and Special Interest Workshops including Art History, Cinema, Gastronomy, Literature, Opera and Song.
All our classes are conducted in Italian and provide training in all basic communication skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing; with a systematic study of grammar. Our teachers are university-qualified and native speakers. Our classrooms have video and audio equipment, as well as satellite links.
Our linguistic levels follow the new Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEF, produced by the Council of Europe. This ensures uniformity and consistency of teaching in line with other language Institutions in London and across Europe.
Terms last for 10 weeks, and you can choose courses of 30 or 40 hours. Content is the same for both, which means the 40-hour course allows you more time to digest, learn and practice the material.
This is just one example of our flexible approach.
